Uzone.id — Four elements in zodiac signs–Water, Earth, Air, and Fire– connected to each other because they give each other energy. 4 of the elements–12 signs, are the symbol of the complexity of matter and existence.

“All four elements are interchangeable and correlate to each other because they give each other energy. They represent the complexity of matter, the atmosphere, and existence,” said astrologer and bestselling author Lisa Stardust.

One of the elements is Water. It’s specifically made up of the zodiac signs Scorpio, Pisces and Cancer which kicked off its season on June 20.

Water signs in astrology are known for their emotional depth, intuition, and sensitivity. If you or someone you know is a Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces, you’re probably already aware of how in touch with emotions these signs can be.

“Since the tides of the ocean are controlled by the Moon and we are composed of 60% water, this element has a profound impact on us Earthlings,” Stardust explained.

The Power of Water in Astrology

Water signs are linked to the emotional and intuitive aspects of life. The zodiac signs categorized as Water signs are Cancer (June 21-July 22), Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) and Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20).

They are often highly empathetic, caring, and in tune with their surroundings. According to astrologer Susan Miller, “Water signs have a natural ability to pick up on other people’s feelings, which makes them highly sensitive and often empathetic.”

Water elements join earth signs as the passive elements. These types of elements tend to be more introverted and self-contained with greater inner resources of power and passion.

The water element represents fluidity, emotions, and a deep connection to the subconscious. Let’s dive into each water sign to find out their unique way.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): The Nurturer

Cancer is ruled by the Moon, and is often seen as the mother of the zodiac. Moon has several meanings, it is particularly known for being deeply connected to the people.

“Emotions, habits, behaviors, instincts and the inner world as a few factors affected. The moon also aligns with family, our domestic or private lives and the past,” said People’s resident astrologer Kyle Thomas.

Just like their planet, Cancer is popular with their moody mood. California-based astrologer Natalia Benson stated, “No other sign in the zodiac has a planet that changes signs every two to three days. … It’s running through a lot of different energy.”

On the other side, people born under this sign are known for their caring, nurturing nature. They are highly protective of their loved ones and are always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Cancers are deeply emotional and often feel everything intensely, which can make them highly compassionate and supportive.

“Cancer is the sign of home and family. They are the caretakers who make sure everyone around them feels safe and supported,” said astrologer Chani Nicholas.

Because Cancer is a cardinal water sign, they are also action-oriented when it comes to protecting their emotional security.

One of their weaknesses is their deep sensitivity can sometimes make them retreat into their shell when they feel hurt or overwhelmed. But their loyalty and devotion to loved ones make them some of the most dependable people you’ll ever meet.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): The Intense Transformer

Scorpio is often considered the most intense and mysterious of all the zodiac signs. They are ruled by Pluto. The planet is named after Hades, king of the underworld, and associated with death, rebirth, and destiny, Scorpios often get negative vibes.

“They’re intense, powerful, and represent the shadow side of the water signs. (It’s no coincidence that Halloween falls during their season),” said Jasmine Pirovic from Russh.

Scorpio has a reputation for being deeply passionate, determined, and sometimes secretive. They are known for their ability to transform themselves and others, making them natural leaders in times of crisis or change.

“Scorpio’s emotional depth is unmatched. They can go beneath the surface, exploring the deeper layers of life and relationships,” said astrologer Jessica Lanyadoo.

As a fixed water sign, Scorpio is incredibly focused and persistent. They are not afraid to confront the darker, more difficult sides of life and are often drawn to uncovering hidden truths.

While their intensity can sometimes come across as intimidating, Scorpios are also fiercely loyal and protective of those they care about. If you have a Scorpio in your life, you know they’re all about honesty, trust, and meaningful connections.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20): The Dreamer

Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, is ruled by Neptune, the planet of dreams, imagination, and spirituality. They are known as the dreamers of the zodiac, that’s why they’re popular for their highly creative, intuitive, and compassionate energy.

“Ruled by Jupiter and Neptune, Pisces are super intuitive and psychic. They can feel the emotions of others. This Water sign is creative and imaginative,” quoted from Stardust in People.

They have a unique ability to empathize with others and often feel deeply connected to the world around them.

“Pisces is the sign of universal love and compassion,” says astrologer Maria Shaw. “They are deeply sensitive and often feel the emotions of others as if they were their own.”

Pisces’ mutable water energy makes them adaptable and open to new experiences, but it can also make them a bit indecisive or prone to escapism.

They often need time to retreat into their world to recharge and process their emotions. While they can be sensitive, their kindness and creativity make them some of the most caring and imaginative people you’ll ever meet.

How Water Signs Relate to the World

Water signs are known for their emotional intelligence and their ability to understand the feelings of others. They are often drawn to creative and artistic pursuits like writing, music, or art, as these allow them to express their deep emotions healthily.

According to psychologist and astrologer Jennifer Freed, “Water signs have a unique gift for emotional awareness. They are often the healers of the zodiac, helping others through their empathy and understanding.”

However, water signs can sometimes get overwhelmed by their emotions, leading them to retreat or become moody. They need to find balance by setting healthy boundaries and learning to protect their energy from the emotional weight of others.

Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces are all deeply emotional and intuitive signs that bring a unique perspective to the zodiac. Whether it’s Cancer’s nurturing nature, Scorpio’s intense passion, or Pisces’ dreamy creativity, water signs are all about emotional connection and empathy.
